    Question~ With so many different ethnicities is/how it possible to cover teaching your students about all the different cultures?

    fact: Religion has and always will be a battle in schools; to have or not to have?

    Question? Why is it important for teachers to know American history?

    Fact:In the 1600's, some girls received elementary instrucation, but formal colonial education was intended mainly for boys, particulary those of the middle and upper classes.

    Fact: The people who had been American Indians for 20000 years finally became American citizens in 1924 (but that didn't mean they controlled their own education.)

    Question: When, and in what areas, do ALL teachers apply American History (of schools and the school system,) to their teaching?

    Question: Is the progressive school movement idea that children's development should be measured scientifically and not just by grades a good thing or a bad thing?

    Fact: Brown V. Board of education of Topeka: 1954, in which the Supreme Court ruled that separate educational facilities are inherently unequal and that laws requiring white and nonwhite students to go to different schools were illegal.

    Question: Why do people feel uncomfortable around someone who is of a different race or back ground?

    Question: There was a question in the text that I found compelling, What should schools do about achievement gaps between poor and minority students and students from white or wealthier families? How can we use history to correct these issues?

    Does the 75% also include the African American children who were enrolled in school during 1918?

    Fact-As early as 1642, Massachusetts passed a law requiring parents to educate their children.

    Question-If the students are not getting help from home on their homework are teachers supposed to take charge and help students out after or before school if the parents dont care about their child's education?

    Fact: The first U.S. experiments of Kindergarten were made before the Civil War, but it was not until 1873 that a public school kindergarten was established in school kindergarten was established in St Louis, and the idea spread rapidly.

    Fact: Between 1890 and 2002, the number of students in public high school increased as a percentage of all students attending public school from 1.6% to 29%
