Question: With lack of funding being an issue with schools how could we ever have our children go year round and should we?

Fact: NCLB is the main federal law on k-12 education, and the revision greatly increases the federal role in education by putting into place requirements that reach into virtually every public school in the U.S.
Fact: Forty-five states require aspiring teachers to pass a state-prescribed, standardized test before entering a teacher education program and/or before being licensed to teach.

Question~ Is scaffolding a good method of teaching, because what is the student going to do when the teacher isn't there, like say during a test, to give them hints and clues to an answer.?

Fact: In the late 1980's beginning teachers earned $12,000-$13,000. By 2007, the national average was around $32,500.

Fact: Knowing about justice, compassion and courage is one thing; making them a part of one's life and practicing them diligently is another. Students need REAL opportunities to practice these and adding them in to school is a good REAL world look at why we go to school.

Fact:Currently 44 states have some form of teacher testing, which typically takes place when candidates are leaving their teacher education programs or before they receive state licensure.

Fact-policy makers believe that student achievement will not increase markedly until higer standers are set and quality work by all students is expected and rewarded.
