    Fact: If a teacher suspects that a student is experiencing, or has experienced any type of abuse at home, he or she is required to report it to authorities.

    Question: Where exactly o yu draw the line of "reasonable" cause to suspect a child is being abused? (How far into a situation are you able to investigate?)

    Fact- In many schools you have to fit certain personal requirements. For example you can’t wear to tight of clothing or clothing that is shorter could result in you getting in trouble with the administrators or even fired. The book stated that some schools require male teachers to wear a dress shirt and tie.

    Question- How do you as a teacher not let your religion come into play when one of your students are trying to preach to other students about their own religion? I am a religious person and I think I might be tempted so say something about my Christian faith, how would I not allow that sort of issue arise?

  10. Question: "Teachers were summarily fired for homosexuality, being pregnant and single, using drugs, being drunk." (Pg.263) To what extent should your personal life be excluded from others? If you see a student at a grocery store and your with someone of the same sex, or if you have questionalbe things in your cart, how would you go about it? Should we keep student/teacher relationships just in the class room and ignore them elsewhere?

    Fact: Poorly performing tenured teachers CAN be fired. I found that comforting.

    Question: Is tenure a good thing or does it make too difficult to fire poor teachers?

    Should weight come into whether a teacher is hired or fired?

    Why is it that there are still schools that find it appropriate to spank children?

    Fact: Teacher's in every state are required by law to report suspected child abuse or neglect.

    Fact: Humans are imitative creatures. First we copy our parents and siblings, and then, as we move out into the world, we copy various people who cross our paths.

  15. Does academic freedom conflict with the No Child Left Behind Act?

    ....81% of U.S. students acknowledged that they were the subjects of sexual harassment at some point in their school lives. Are schools looking at harassment against gay/lesbian students with the same importance as "straight" students?

    Question: What is exatly reasonable force? When breaking up a fight.

    Fact: The fourthteenth Amendment goes on to stipulate that no person should be denied " the eual protection of the law."
