    1. What is teaching, philosophically speaking? Philosophy is like art, no limits, rules, or boundaries. Philosophy IS. ISN’T it? Who’s teaching who? Is not philosophy the idea of self-educated intellects? Can it be deduced, then, given the basic definition for the word “philosophy” is the “love of wisdom”, that those who are not philosophical are indeed ignorant?! (Txtbk. Chpt. 9)

  5. Question: The creationist controversy continues to be an ongoing educational controversy. Will my own beliefs affect how I approach my methods of teaching my students how to answer the questions "Who are we and How did we get here?"

    Fact: Behaviorism remains a dominate theoretical presence, particulary in the areas of Special Education and classroom discipline.

    Will I change philosophies during my teaching career?

    Fact:

    Most teachers have a multi-philosophical type of teaching and each is different from the next.

    Question: Should a school lay out what is to be learned, or should students have the larger say in what and how they learn?

    Fact:Schools such as Summerhill in Suffolk, England, and Sudbury Valley School in Framingham, Massachusetts, emboby many of the beliefs of the romantics. These schools, there is no set curricula, no formal classes, and no test. Students decide what they want to study and, in some cases, are expected to take responsibility for their learning.
    It is a interesting thought and I wonder how the students from these schools do in life?
