What do you think is the best philosophy to use in your field of work?
Essentialism is a uniquely American philosophy of education that began in the 1930's and 40's as a reaction to what was seen as an overemphasis on a child-centered approach to education and a concern that students were not gaining appropriate and adequate knowledge in schools. (pg. 302)
Question: If your teaching style "leans" toward one certain philosophy, should you try to incorporate the other philosophies to balance your teaching style, or should you continue teaching that way to continue developing your personal style?

Fact: Perennialists insist that education is preparation for life and, therefore, believe that it should not attempt to imitate life or be life life.
